Give me a reason to live
I´m learning to read and write and I like to do it on my own. All help is very welcome

Dear Fran,
I´ve always worked a lot in spite of my father thought on the contrary. And I never thought I was special, however hard he pointed at my leg.
     I´m disabled.
In the old days people used to hide children with some blemish. Parents were ashamed by an evil curse: a deadly sin it was committed by them, by their parents or by their parents´ parents, so God –in his immense justice- sent them a punishment.
Fortunately the world has changed a lot since I was fifteen to now.
Why am I telling you this? Because I´ve met, through TV, a dancer who has the same difficulty that me. You have read all right; she is a renowned dancer! She is a brave woman that since her fourteen has grown leaned on a pair of crutches because of osteoporosis.
Her name´s Claire Cunningham, from Scotland, and these days she has been showing us how you can dancing and express your emotions “dragging your feet”, as my father would say.
The best thing is Claire doesn´t drag her legs, she moves them smoothly, with gracefulness and strength. She achieves you forget her bones disease.
Besides dancing, Claire is an interesting person for what she says. There is a sentence which in my words could be this way: in crisis period we use to blame for it on minorities like Jews, gypsies or the disabled.
And I know of what she speaks.
Apart the emotional charge, we, the disabled, have to charge with another obstacles. After all I´m working and my leg allows me do anything at my own pace though. For I´ve heard the NHS gives something that a disabled needs, but the rest? For example, a feeding chair translated to pounds are 700; if we speak of a standing frame it means £2000 and if we refer to a suitable seat you ought to wait for six-month, because you will be at the end of the NHS waiting list.
If you –or your daughter- need a physiosession every couple of days, it´s better you prepare for paying £90 each time because the NHS only offers that session monthly.
As for unemployment benefit, there are shocking rules in England because if you are caring for your daughter you aren´t eligible for jobseeker´s allowance.
All this are suffering the Sophia´s family and many families in the world.
Therefore I think our dancer´s work is precious. She inculcate into us a feel of endurance face the life. She and Victoria and Gennadiy, sophia´s parents.
     Your affectionate.

     Mary
