Muelle del Tinto
Dear Fran,
My maestro is a charm. Do you want to know
what he has done today? He has given me one of his paintings. It´s a beautiful
view of the pier called Muelle del Tinto,
you know, that architectural and elegant creation made by the Eiffel´s school
according to ones or built buy two English engineers according other ones. I
had showed interest in it a couple of time and he might understand I was asking
him for the painting; a couple of times, I promise you, were enough and this
morning he surprised me with the gift.
This pier has its own life. It was born because
our English compatriots needed to carry mineral from Riotinto —more than eighty
kilometres— to the Odiel Bay by train and loading it via this railway track. Its
life elapsed since 1875 till 1975 aproximately. It was love at first sight! (I
refer to the painting) I live very close this place and when I saw it I always
imagined those trains in a long long journey to my origins.
I was not the only one, however. Pepe, my
classmate, has received other painting which depicts a street in a tiny hamlet
in Cordova province. With a more little size the work reflects a peaceful and
intimate place.
Now I'm going to stop writing you to
attach the picture of my painting.

You will agree to me that it´s a great
present!
