The transaction

     The business could be very beneficial for my father. When he sent me to serve in the vicarage, on the one hand, I stopped getting in the way -as he said- in the farmer and, on the other, someone would feed me and even some money would come into our house.

     This arrangement was very common at that time. And, from what I heard, here it was also done as summat very natural. When more than half a dozen children gathered in a family for food or clothing, parents sometimes work together that one of them - almost always a girl - went to the house of someone more wealthy in town for her to work there in whatever it took. The godfather of one of the children was also used, who took care of the godson in question. Other times it was uncles who had not had children who took the nephew or niece to live with them, as happened to the sister of the house bordering on my señora, that they not only fed and dressed her, but they even put her to study and ended up obtaining the title of nurse and eventually inherited all the properties of the couple. Today, when she approaches the town -because she lives in the Sevillian Aljarafe- she gets out of a fancy car with some fancy dresses and some posh airs that have nothing to do with the way of dressing and walking of her others siblings. She still maintains one of the best houses on the Real Street in town.

     Dear Fran, it has been more than two months since this quarantine began and we are in the early stages of desconfinamiento, nevertheless people are still catching it: yesterday 549.
