Venta Marcelino
Opposite the Sanctuary is Venta Marcelino. This is my second time if you remember to (you have a photo of its votive offering room that I sent you time ago). My lady likes going to Olvera and prays in the intimist church after crossing the square courtyard which is full of plant pots of aspidistras, ferns and monsteras (spanish costilla de Adan). All of them are house plants. And I know these names because of Godoy and mi señora.

After lunch we had a coffee under the roof of reed thatch of the Venta and we had the opportunity of hearing the chats from the tables beside our one.
Left table. They discuss about lentils. One of the fellow diners said he had heard that if you cooked lentils you should pour some water in a pot and maintain, for twelve hours, the lentils absorbing water.
I know many people who do not follow this advice but I do it and they taste exquisite!
Right table. A couple in their sixties and a couple in their forties. Amongst they an innocent baby in a pushchair. Neither my lady nor I knew what relationship between the double couple was, but the younger man —a bloke who looked like a bailaor— broke the line of conversation with this  maxim “as the great Leonardo da Vinci said, there are people who were born just for eating and shitting”. All of us who were on the terrace looked at each other.
Venta Marcelino is a quiet place and from there one can see spectacular views. If you have the chance, I recommend you one café bombon under the reed thatch of Marcelino´s terrace.
By the way, Fran, have you noticed I don´t write those first words… I´m learning to read and write and I like to do it on my own. All help is very welcome. I think it is a good sign, do not you think?
