     Of planes and sharks

     Dear Fran,

Use this email to communicate you the pleasant news that my work "Holly, your flight has been canceled" has been selected in the LXIX National Painting Contest of GibraleĆ³n.

The painting —of which I am sending you a photograph— is inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's; in a scene in which the protagonist wants to take a plane to follow in her lover's footsteps and is gathering her things and putting them in her suitcase. At the same time, his friend Paul is looking through the window that it is raining in the city, it is raining so much that Sharks might have swum through the air...

Holly, your flight has been canceled

That image caught on in me and I asked my teacher to provide me with a 116 x 81 cm canvas to try to express on the canvas what I already had in mind.

I don't know why, but I'm taking a liking to this town!
