Act 1908

At that time I was an ofender and as son as I went through that door I was labelled runner. According to the old Act 1908, all of us should reform our lifes, God willing, with sport and toil. By means of work a bunch of amended cooks and bakers could have stuffed the paunch of some generations of high and mighty.
No sooner said than done, I had completely liberty to run. They gave me a kind of release on bail that I didn´t waste.
To tell you the truth I used to run when I was a lad but not in this way. From that moment I began to run while I thought too. I thought in a lot of things, however there was one feeling that it always runned with me: a pleasant loneliness overhelmed me. Each stride I did was more and more honest; each footstep I did came closer to me. Those training sessions were useful in order to know my lifeblood better.
I still reckon that I´m in a big long distance race, the biggest long distance for a man, like when I was a teenager, nobody must to know if I´m in a hurry and to save my strength.
The finishing line is really far away. At least, this is my wish.
From my Borstal.
