Differences
with my Master
Dear
Fran,
I´d
like to know what do you think about what I´m going to set out.
When
I am finishing a paint in my class I´m usually accostomed to cover
up my canvas with white oil painting and I start to paint another
subject. But Carlos, my Master, tell me that I shouldn´t cover up my
work because it´s a kind of history of my life. Each painting
carries part of myself and he believe that´s a sacrilege.
Last
Wednesday Carlos scold me for having destroyed a landscape which
according to him it was an interesting composition.
Fran, at my age, I don´t need to save any handicraft because I know
how my life is. That is good for people like him; young people full
of life. What´s more, that painting could be done by anyone with a
little patience.
Carlos
told me that, from now on, I would not erase the paintings even if he
only did it for him. Thing I don´t know why. Should I have asked him
why? I cannot tell him allthe plain truth because I´m ashamed. It´ll
probably he wouldn´t understand me. I´ll explain you eventually.
There is a name which are besetting me: Fagin. And a project.
However, in order to carry out this project I need to paint better.
That's why I delete what I do.
Now
I´m painting easy things. I´m learning the colour mixing,
perspective and proportion. Where the light comes and where the
shadow is. Therefore, the first advice of our Master is to choose a
no complicated photo. Because there are some classmates that they´ve
got themselves into a fine mess!
Carlos
advice us that we enjoy; that we attend to an occupational workshop
and we shouldn´t accept any commission since this signify pressure
and we are too old now. I think he´s right.
