A lifelong
friendship
Dear friend,
My señora complains about a friend of hers because she says that she asks a lot, that she wants to know about people, but she hardly talks about her and her own; that she would be an excellent journalist.
This friendship comes from afar; it comes
from when they were both in school, that is, more than sixty years ago. On the
one hand, in the happiest moments there she was; in the saddest moments she was
there too. But my señora says that she likes delving more into the details that
produce sadness, pain and that she has some curiosity in dealing with matters
that hurt and that she does not put herself in the shoes of the other person.
Anyway, Fran, I ask her why she maintains
this relationship and she does not manage to answer me. As far as I concern I
wonder what it is that ties a person to maintain close contact with another
person for a lifetime. She is always moaning on about it. What do you think?
Y. a.
Mary
