Eleventh day of quarantine

A few days ago, I do not know where, I read this: Germany will close its borders with France, Austria and Switzerland tomorrow Monday, not only due to the coronavirus, but to prevent panic purchases by citizens of the mentioned countries.

Yesterday, in Scotland, the authorities begged everyone us not to go to highlands; many caravans and motorhomes were taking over the camping sites and could put unbearable pressure on rural tents and health centres that are intended for a very limited population.

Today there was no person in charge of controlling people at the entrance of the supermarket. It has given me a certain joy to see that people observe a simple and democratic rule: enter the supermarket when someone else leaves. Without guards who have to impose it on you. Complying with this minimum rule of action in this country is an achievement that I did not believe possible.
Although we live, fortunately, in the area with the fewest infections in Andalusia, I keep within the ordered recommendations. I do the shopping at the nearest supermarket and leave the house every five or six days. I wear gloves only because the masks are missing and when i come back with the most basic items (eggs, papas, oil and some tinned food) I go straight to the bathroom and have a shower. My señora and I have been together since the confinement began on March 13 and she proposed me that we could live in her house.
Today they have been talking about some nursing homes where the army has found the poor grandparents sharing rooms with other deceased companions. This is atrocious! My señora is quite worried about her brother, although they have already called her from the nursing home to reassure her and tell her that they did not have anyone infected there. A deep sigh came from her soul as she hung up the phone.
On TV they continually offer figures of infected, dead and discharged, but to me the amount that is fixed in my head is that of the deceased. Death does not distinguish classes, there are already 2,696. Among them are artists, nobles, bankers and even presidents of sports clubs. Money in these cases is not much use.
On the other hand, I have known that in England the PM baked out of his position of initiation of this epidemic; he thought that the virus had to be allowed to go its own way even if it meant that many people were going to die. Last night it announced more severe measures to fight covid-19.
From my family there I know that — for now — it is fine although, it is logical, a little fearful of the evolution of the 'bug'.
Dear Fran, after 'that', this illness and this confinement is the most serious thing that has happened to me. At times I can get an idea of how would be the period of war that people who today are over eighty years endured.
We have finished the first week of confinement and the government has already decreed to extend the estado de alarma for two more weeks, until April 11. In my opinion, they tell us bit by bit so that we are able to face them.
